Halloween Makeup | Day of the Dead

Hi!!!

Sorry I have been a little MIA lately. I have been very busy. I have an office job now on top of doing makeup on the weekends, so sometimes things get hectic. 

Anyway! How was everyone's Halloween? I didn't do anything on the night of, but below of pictures from a Halloween party and how I wore my makeup for work.

For both looks I used white face paint from the craft store, black gel eyeliner smudged out with black eyeshadow and flat shader brush. Both times, I wore "medusa" lashes from True or False lashes. Pink lipstick is Maybelline Fushia Flash!

NYX Butter Gloss | Review//Swatches

So, I have heard so many people raving on the NYX Butter Gloss, I figured it would give it a try. I love the NYX Mega Shine lipgloss, so I figured I may like te butter glosses. 

Here are the ones that I got:

MY THOUGHTS:   

So far, so good. I absolutely love the texture. They are so creamy and feel so moisturizing on your lips. They are a tiny bit sticky, but not as sticky as MAC Lipglass. The pigment is great on Merengue (bright light pink with blue undertones) and Apple Strudel (creamy light bright coral orange). Creme Brule is very sheer, but still pretty. I think I will layer that one over a neutral lipstick.

Fall Nail Polish | Finds

I had some CVS bucks, so what better way to spend it than on some Fall polish. I picked up 4 different colors. And I spend zero bucks! Gotta love that!

Monsters University | Preparations for a 2 year old birthday

Hey guys,

I know this is generally a beauty blog, but I would also like to share some "real life" stuff as well. My son is turning 2 on Oct 11, so I am preparing his birthday: Monsters University style.

Feeling classic? | Nail Inspiration

I am back with another nail inspiration. Don't shoot me. But, I  starting to transition into fall (kind of). I wanted to go with a "classic red". The BEST red in my opinion (that isn't too blue or to orange) is Revlon "Chili". I LOVE IT! I put together tis collage as just inspiration!

Tips for getting the BEST beauty steals on EBay

Hi Everyone,

So, I was very unsure of purchasing makeup/beauty products from EBay. Reason being was I thought they were all shelf pulls or old product. Of course, I have had one purchase or so that I wasn't completely satisfied with, but that doesn't stop me. If you want to know my tips, please keep reading! :)

Tips/Tricks when purchasing beauty items on eBay:

*Always make sure you ask/message the seller and ask how old the product is, when it expires (if it does), etc. 

*Always filter your search results to "lowest cost", this is how you will find the   best deals. Just bid away and hope someone misses the steal.

*Make sure when you are searching you are very specific with brand, color, type of makeup or skincare. (Pink Maybelline lipstick, Revlon lip stain, Smashbox primer). This definitely helps and makes purchasing easy. If you don't know what you want, you can be less specific, you just may be searching longer to find what you want.

*Always look where item is located. I try to always purchase items from US. They get to you faster! 

*Make sure to read ALL descriptions. Some sellers can be tricky and items can be "new", but "damaged", or "unsealed". You always want products that can have a seal to still contain that seal! Protect yourself!!!

Eyebrow Waxing Tutorial

August Beauty Favorites!

I CANNOT believe that it is already the end of August! Wow, this summer has flown by. It still feels like middle of summer here with the temperature being 91 degrees at 10am. HOLY HOTNESS! All I have to say is thank goodness for air conditioning. With that said, I am excited for fall clothing, colors ,etc.

Wet N Wild Mega Last Lipstick | Review & Swatches

WET N WILD lipsticks are FABULOUS! They last so long, and the color pay off is amazing. I have owned a few darker shades that I purchased last fall. But, since it has been Summer, I have been wearing brighter colors. So, while at CVS, I decided to pick up a couple lighter/more wearable for Summer shades.

I have a list of more colors I want. I have found that CVS doesn't carry all the colors. I have found that Walgreens has a great selection, and same with Rite-Aid, so I guess I will be going all over checking off the colors I want when I find them. Fingers crossed I do. :)

My Busy Weekend | HMU by Me :)

Hi Everyone,

I am just breaking promises right and left, and I am so sorry! I have been meaning to sit down and blog; I have a list of reviews and blog posts to do. I AM GOING TO GET BACK ON IT! With that said, let me just tell you, I had one BUSY weekend. I am going to share a few photos with you and also tell you a little bit about my experience. 

Saturday: I did makeup for a beautiful bride who wanted to recreate wedding photos. This was a fun experience and I got two work with two lovely ladies. I live in Southern California, and apparently every person that lives here needed to be on the 5 South exactly when I did. I ran a bit late (this is when I wish I could fly). But, we made it work.

Sunday: I had an awesome on location experience. I did hair and makeup for a beautiful lady that will be graduating college in the fall. The photographer we worked with this amazing. She is a natural light wedding and portrait photographer and is PHENOMENAL  We went to University of Redlands and an orange grove in Redlands. Beautiful locations.

My Bad | But, I am back!

Hi Guys,

I am so sorry I have been MIA for about a week now. Things have been pretty hectic around here. I have been doing some major "Spring" cleaning at the end of summer.  :) I will be posting my tips, and what I have done to get ready for fall, as well as some of my recent skin and makeup experiences/looks.

{Organic} DIY Lip Scrub

If you follow me on my blog, you know that I love anything DIY, so below is how to create an organic DIY Lip Scrub.

Organic DIY Lip Scrub:

What you will need: 

Organic Brown Sugar: 2 teaspoons

Benefits: Natural humectant-takes moisture from the environment and puts it in to skin, also a topical exfoliate.

Organic Coconut Oil: 1 tablespoon

Benefits: Moisturizes, rich in antioxidants, natural cleanser.

Organic Honey: 1 teaspoon

Benefits: Attracts and retains moisture in the skin.

Small Glass Jar:

Directions:

• Combine ingredients into glass jar; mix.
• Scoop a tiny amount onto your finger and gently rub in circular motions on your lips. Wipe off with a warm wash gloss.

• Essie Angel Food Nail Polish: This is a beautiful milky white with light pink undertones.

• China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy Nail Polish: A beautiful bright, but medium coral, salmon, orangey color. 

MAKEUP:

• Maybelline Gel Liner in Blackest Black: This is so far my favorite black gel liner, EVER. It is darker than Mac's Fluid Line. I love the consistancy, and it stays all day. I apply it with an angle brush for thin or more dramatic liner.

HAIR:

• Paul Mitchell Lite Detangler-Detangling Spray: Basics: Makes it easier to brush through and style tangled tresses. Benefits: Leaves hair full of volume and shine. Bonus: Fragrance-free formula is ideal for anyone sensitive to scent.

I love this product. I spray it in my hair before  I comb it out with a wide tooth comb. I have fine hair, so this product works great because it is not heavy at all, and does not weigh my hair down.

Summer makeup | Pop of color

Lately, I have been doing pretty neutral colors on the top, with a pop of color on the bottom! I absolutely love this look because you can make it look subtle or dramatic. But, it isn't going overboard with dramatic bright colors on the lid. So, you can wear this look during the day. Below is a picture of my "pop of color" look.

Birthday Makeup | {Before & After}
