Birthday Makeup | {Before & After}

My little sister turned 21 last Thursday, and had her birthday party on Friday. I did her makeup for her party, and had so much fun doing so. Her outfit was pink shorts with a black and white top. She specifically asked for pink to be somewhere in her makeup look, so this is what I came up with:

Have a great Tuesday!

First Impressions | IPSY Glam Bag July 2013

This is the first IPSY glam bag that I have ever got. I decided to give it a try because I love trying it now products. I heard they even give you full sized products. If you want to see what came in my July 2013 Glam Bag, please keep reading.

Join me on ipsy and subscribe to the Glam Bag! You get 4-5 beauty products every month delivered to your door, for just $10. Michelle Phan curates the bags! Check it out here: http://www.ipsy.com/?refer=u-hhh7ffy5jlcovdp (sorry I can't seem to get the link to work, please copy and paste it.)

The BEACH Bag:

  • Nailtini Nail Lacquer in Mai Tai- I have never tried or heard of this brand before. The color that came in the Glam Bag is called Mai Tai, it is an coral-orangey color, more orangey though. I have not tried it yet, so I can't say how well it lasts. Hope I love it! :)

  • Sexy Hair Soy Renewal Beach Spray (Conditioning & Texturizing)- creates beach texture hair without spending a day at the beach. Contains argon oil which helps nourish dry and damaged hair. ***i have not fully used this product to style my hair, but I did spray it, and boy does it smell good.

  • Pouty Pop Crayon by POP Beauty- I got the color fuschia Flirt.  I love the feel of this product. Very nourishing. It also gives a subtle plump to the lips. I would say that this color is a little lighter than most fuschia products I own. But, nonetheless, I really like it.

  • BH Cosmetics California Collection Eyeshadow Sample- This BH Cosmetics makeup palette includes a shade from each of the California Collection palettes: Hollywood, San Francisco, and Malibu.  It contains a shimmery gold, a shimmery/sheen brown, and a matte purple with blue undertones. I cannot wait to play with these!

  • Coola Mineral Face SPF 20 Tinted Moisturizer- This sunscreen is hypoallergenic, paraben-free, ultra sheer, anti-aging, and water resistant for 40 minutes. I love this product, it feels great on my face. I just pop some powder and blush over and I am good to go. :)

Thank you so much for visiting! Enjoy your Friday! TGIF.

{Mini} CVS Run | Discounts!

I love CVS, however, it can be a bit more pricey than Target or Walmart. If you sign up for there reward/beauty points, you get money off here and there that can be applied to your purchases. Instead of bringing in a coupon they will send it directly to your rewards card. Therefore, it makes it worth it to go there if you get a discount. :)

So, I am going to share with you what I got and awesome discounts I got as well. Enjoy :)

From left to right:

  • Wet N Wild #435G- rose pink sparkles---I have used this product already gives great coverage of glitter in just two coats. Item costs $.99cents.
  • Wet N Wild  #205B Sugar Coat- This is a beautiful pale milky pink. You do need to put about 3 coats on to get good enough coverage. Item on sale for $.99cents.
  • Loreal Ideal Moisture Day/Night Cream- I have no used this yet. But, this product contains Vitamin C-AKA Ascorbic Acid which is key to the production of collagen. Its antioxidant properties help your skin heal itself. Item costs $6.99.
  • Nivea A Kiss of Shine SPF 15- This is a gloss clear lip gloss with lip protection. Item on sale for $1.99.
  • Spoiled Nail Polish- Glitter in it is gold, silver , blue, periwinkle and chunky. I love this, I used it on my accent finger as I am doing this blog post. :) I will post a pic on my instagram @amyjunemakeup. Item costs $1.99.

How I remove HEAVY makeup with ease

I had searched and searched for ways to remove heavy eye makeup, mascara and foundation for a while. I would always go back to my original way which was taught to me by my mom. I do out a twist on it now though aft trying out several ways.

What you will need:
  • Approximately 2 tissues (I use Puff's Ultra Soft and Strong)
  • 2 unscented baby wipes (I use Pampers Sensitive baby wipes)
  • Ponds cold cream (I use the original formula cold cream)
  • A makeup filled face :) (You know what they looks like :)
What I do:

1. Apply Ponds cold cream to eyes and run product in and around gently. (You will see the makeup like melting off).
2. Remove eye makeup with tissues.
3. Get more Ponds cold cream and work it on your lashes to get off mascara.
4. Remove with tissue.
5. Apply Ponds cold cream to entire face; massage.
6. Wipe off with tissues.
7. Apply more cold cream to eyes and over entire face one more time.
8 Remove with baby wipes.

*Note: I have seen this done with Ponds Cold Cream and using straight baby wipes. I feel the wetness from then wipes doesn't pull all the product off right away. The friction from the tissues pulls off more initial product.

What are your favorite/most effective ways to remove your makeup?

Enjoy your Tuesday!

Nail Inspiration | Rose

Sweet and simple. I have been having an amazing time taking photos of my dads rose bushes every time I pay a visit to my parents house. I really find inspiration in taking photos and pairing them with beauty products. All photos are taken on my iphone. :)

In this photo: I am wearing Essie A Crewed Interest nail polish. It was introduced to me by my friend Daniela, and it was also mentioned in a previous blog post. It is a light peachy pink color, great for everyday wear.

What give you inspiration?

Thanks for visiting my blog! I appreciate it greatly!

{Favorite} Summer Makeup Items

I know I haven't done an all over favorite item post in a while (besides summer nail polishes-go figure). Here you go:

Favorite Summer Foundation: Revlon Colorstay Whipped Foundation- this stuff is awesome! It has a very matte finish, therefore someone with dry skin may not even need a setting powder. It says it lasts 24 hours, however, I have never left my makeup on that long. But, it does last throughout the day. I am pretty oily in my t-zone, and I barely get shine by the end of the day. If you follow my blog, you do know I am a VERY big fan of Revlon foundation. Generally, when it is not as hot, I wear the Colorstay 24 Hour Liquid.  http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?skuId=2246985&productId=xlsImpprod4410265&navAction=push&navCount=1&categoryId=cat80022

Favorite Summer Powder: Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in transparent- the company says that it controls shine for up to 5 hours, however, I never carry this product with me for touch ups. The combination of the Whipped Foundation and the powder keeps me looking pretty matte most of the day. This product is great to have in your PRO kit as well, because it matches everyone and helps lock any liquid makeup in place. http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?skuId=2101674&productId=VP00144&navAction=push&navCount=1&subdoc=2101674-sandstorm004&categoryId=cat80028#sku2101673

Favorite ALL TIME Bronzer: Lancome Star Bronzer in Solaire- this is tricky because I am having a hard time finding this product online, so I may need to visit a counter and find out if it is discontinued. But, I LOVE THIS BRONZER. It is a matte finish and just the perfect color for most fair-medium skin tones.

Favorite Summer Highlighter: MAC Paint Pot- Chilled on Ice- Paint pots are generally used as an eye shadow base or primer. They are of creamy consistency, and feel great. I generally prefer a powder as a highlighter, but I have been loving this for the summer. Chilled on Ice is a cool-toned iridescent pale yellow gold. It is interesting because gold is generally considered warm, so it does look warmer in some lighting. http://www.maccosmetics.com/product/shaded/154/1573/Products/Eyes/Shadow/Paint-Pot/index.tmpl?SKU_ID=SKU47042

Favorite Summer Blush: E.L.F. Studio Blush in Tickled Pink- this blush is a great light peachy-pink. It is great to just pop a little on the apples of the cheeks without looking overly dramatic. The consistency is very nice and blends well into the skin with a silky finish. BEST PART? It is $3!
 http://www.eyeslipsface.com/studio/face/blush/studio_blush

Favorite Summer Lipstick: Maybelline Lipstick in Vivid Rose- this is a medium dark pink with rosy red undertones. It applies very smoothly and leaves lips feeling soft, and not dry throughout the day. Maybelline hit the nail on the head when they put these lipsticks in their vivid collection. THEY HAVE AMAZING COLOR PAYOFF! http://www.drugstore.com/maybelline-colorsensational-vivids-lipcolor-vivid-rose/qxp467279

Have a great Saturday!

{GREAT} Drugstore Shampoo & Conditioner Find

I got these products about a week or so ago. I like to generally give a product about 2 weeks if I am not feeling it too much. But, it is safe to say, I am enjoying this VERY affordable drugstore shampoo and conditioner.

I generally have an oily scalp and drier ends, so I always look for a deep cleansing or invigorating shampoo.  And, of course a conditioning conditioner that won't weigh my hair down.

This is my latest find:

Suave Professionals Invigorating Clean Shampoo & Conditioner:

I love how my scalp feelings after using the shampoo, it feels very clean. The conditioner is great as well. It conditions, but does not feel heavy.

Hope you all have a great weekend! What is your favorite drugstore shampoo and conditioner?

I have noticed my nails not cracking as much which is AWESOME! Mini manicure routine will be up on my blog tomorrow! :)

Favorite Self Tanner | Yes, it is drugstore :)

Short, simple, and sweet post today. MY FAVORITE SELF TANNER! Best part? It is drugstore and costs $6.99, WHAT?!?!  I would like to thank my friend Jamie for introducing it to me.

Banana Boat Summer Color Self-Tanning Lotion- I LOVE IT. It goes on with a little color so you can see what you are doing. It has never streaked on me or looked orange. However, I use the product very sparingly around my hands, feet, knees, ankles, and elbows. Color starts developing in as little as 3 hours.

Enjoy your day!

{First Impressions of Seacret Skincare} | July 2013

Hey Friends,

I LOVE SKINCARE! Anyone who knows me, knows that I am a sucker for ANY beauty products. But, being an Esthetician, I definitely have learned to love and appreciate the skin.

I have been trying out a new skincare line called Seacret. This is the description of the company directly from their website: Let the honest, pure and potent power of the Dead Sea bring out your natural beauty. SEACRET’s collection of skincare and spa products are extracted from the ancient, and some say mystical, muds, salts and minerals found only in one place on earth, the Dead Sea.
In a cosmetic world that often relies on half-truths and hype, and temporary solutions we believe everything we do must embody and reflect the same purity that originates from the Dead Sea, not only in our products, but also in our ongoing relationship with our customers.
SEACRET products are manufactured in Israel with supreme care, using the latest technology and best chemists. We offer our products with the promise that they will enhance your own unique beauty.
I have been using it for almost two weeks now. I LOVE IT! So, let's get started and I will tell you what I have used and what I like about it. :)

Cleanser: Mud Soap- this product is enriched with Dead Sea Mud and other natural minerals to effectively cleanse the skin.

When I say "effectively", I mean "squeaky" clean. My skin literally, no joke, squeaks when I am done cleansing. I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER WITH THAT.  How often do you get a cleanser and it does not CLEANSE?! I really love this product. I have noticed a difference in the texture of my skin, as well as the shrinking of my pores. It comes in a bar form, and works great for normal/oily skin. http://www.seacretdirect.com/product.aspx?ItemCode=10300200-99&WebID=&CatID=41&id=adrienneapplegarth&nLanguageID=0&cultureCode=en-US

Toner: Mineral Rich Refining Toner- Do you know what a toner is suppose to do? Well, it helps bring the skin back to its normal pH after cleanser, helps remove any excess debris that is left on the face, and also allows for maximum product absorption.

I have only use this product once, so I cannot fully give a review or comment on it. It felt great, and made my skin feel soft afterward. http://www.seacretdirect.com/product.aspx?ItemCode=10201000-00&WebID=&CatID=9&id=adrienneapplegarth&nLanguageID=0&cultureCode=en-US

Exfoliant: Mineral-Rich Peeling Gel- Clean and purify your skin with these rich Dead Sea Minerals & plant extracts such as Chamomile and Aloe Vera.

This product is gentle, yet it is a peel. You see your dead skin come off as you rub it into your skin. It is very cool, and very interesting. It is suitable for all skin types. There is a picture below of my skin falling off my face. :) (Don't worry it didn't hurt.) http://www.seacretdirect.com/product.aspx?ItemCode=10200900-00&WebID=&CatID=41&id=adrienneapplegarth&nLanguageID=0&cultureCode=en-US

Mask: Mineral-Rich Clarifying Mud Mask-  Mineral-Rich Clarifying Mud Mask is based on an advanced formula composed of Dead Sea Minerals from the Dead Sea Mud that gently purifies and cleans clogged pores. This product contains herbal complexes of Aloe Vera, Chamomile Extract, Vitamin A, Sunflower Seed and Jojoba Oils.

I really love this mask. It does burn a bit right when you put it on the skin, but it goes away shortly after. It is very unique how you have to remove this mask. Once it is completely dry (about 15-20 minutes), you lean over the sink and gently rub your face in circular motions and it flakes off of the skin. Reason for this, is because if you go straight in with water, it will turn into mud again. I notice that this mask definitely helps to brighten.  This product is suitable for all skin types. http://www.seacretdirect.com/product.aspx?ItemCode=10200800-00&WebID=&CatID=42&id=adrienneapplegarth&nLanguageID=0&cultureCode=en-US

I hope you liked my mini review on the new products I am using. I have not tried all of things from this line yet, but I did share with you what I tried, have been using and LOVED. :)
