Products I've Used Up! | May 2013

Hi Everyone!

So, I have used such great products lately, and I wanted to share with you my empties! YouTube video is up! http://youtu.be/rRyKj7oZty4

Household:

  • Scentsy Bar in Lime & Kiwi Cantaloupe- I LOVE SCENTSY! For those of you who have not heard of this company, they make beautiful warmers. These beautiful warmers heat little wax bars and make your house/room smell amazing! They are very great if you have children, because the wax never gets too hot. If your child or pet happens to touch it, it will not burn them. I will do a more in depth blog post later this week on Scentsy. :) Visit: https://mizzmarianne.scentsy.us/Scentsy/Home to get yours today!
Hair Products:
Body/Face Products:
  • Coppertone Water Babies Lotion Spray-SPF 50- This product is great to have in your bag in the hot summer months. Whether you put it on your children or yourself, you won't be disappointed in the coverage. I use it on my son, and as long as you apply it when you are supposed to, it works great. It also works great for adults that may have sensitive skin. http://www.swimoutlet.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=8742&utm_source=pricegrabber.com&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=pricegrabber.com&Click=204850 $9.95, you can also find it for a tiny bit cheaper at your local Walmart or Target.
  • Ponds Cold Cream Cleanser- I use this product to take all of my makeup off. It is very gentle around the eye areas. It is not an oil, so you won't get any nasty residue if cleansed off properly afterward. It is a cream, so it dissolves even stubborn mascara. It is very affordable at about $5 for a container. I use the green container for sensitive skin (just to be on the safe side). :)  http://www.drugsupplystore.com/servlet/the-8960/Pond's-Cold-Cream-The/Detail#.UaPS3rWThvA $5.99
  • Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel Cleanser- This is a great cleanser for every skin type. It is a gel base and lathers very well. It has a faint smell, and is gently enough on your eyes. This product is artificial fragrance free, which is great for those with sensitive skin.  I have the professional size. However, it comes in smaller sizes as well. http://www.dermalogica.com/special-cleansing-gel/3,default,pd.html?cgid=cleansers&start=6 $35.00
  • Clean & Clear Deep Cleansing Toner (Sensitive Skin)- LOVE LOVE LOVE this toner. It has salicylic acid which helps slough off dead skin cells. People always ask me why a toner is necessary.  It is because it brings your PH back after cleansing, and it also allows your moisturizer to absorb more efficiently. It has definitely made a difference in my skin. I feel like more pores are smaller. It is very cost effective as well. Only about $5 at your local Target.
  • Dermalogica Active Moist Moisturizer- This is by far one of my most favorite moisturizers. It is oil free, and never clogs my pores. It is very light weight, yet very moisturizing. It is great for people with combination/oily skin. Only downfall is that is does not have an SPF, so you would have to add some type of SPF, or only use it at night. http://www.dermalogica.com/active-moist/14,default,pd.html?cgid=moisturizers&start=0 (about $35 for the 1.7oz bottle)
  • Garnier Ultra-Lift Anti-Wrinkle Firming Eye Cream- I like this eye cream. I definitely feel that it did show some reduced crows feet after about 3 weeks. It contains Retinol which is great for sloughing off dead skin cells and smoothing fine lines. However, it can be harsh on sensitive skin. http://www.target.com/p/garnier-nutritioniste-ultra-lift-eye-cream-0-5-oz/-/A-11185777#prodSlot=medium_1_1&term=garnier+eye+cream $11.39

{Before & After}: May 2013

Hello!

So, I wanted to share with you guys a little before and after photo of makeup that I did yesterday. This lovely lady was getting all done up to see her fiance for the first time in over 8 months. I had a great time doing her makeup! When she was done, she almost started crying. AND...of course, I was like NOOOO!!! Haha.

Here is the photo:

What I did:

Face:
*Aloe Based foundation to even out skin tone and also let the skin breathe
*BH Cosmetic Concealer Palette to conceal the undereye area and any areas the foundation didn't cover
*Milani Bronzer to contour
*Peach Blush to the apples of the cheeks

Eyes:
*Peach/Pink Shimmery color on the lip
*Dark warm brown color in crease blended out with a lighter warm brown transition color
*Black lightly on the outer v of the eye
*Shimmery beige color to highlight brow bone and tear ducts
*Maybelline Gel Liner in Blackest Black, put on with a mini wing on upper lash line
*Wispy false lashes
*Lower lash line: with a pencil brush the darker brown color from the crease
*AND OF COURSE MASCARA, MASCARA, MASCARA!

Lips:
*Lip balm to hydrate lips
*Medium Pink Color lipstick

Hope I didn't miss anything! I did not list specific products this time because I want you to be creative and use whatever you already own. Plus side, it won't make you want to shop. :) So, thank me. :)

Mini Ulta Haul + Opinions

Hi Everyone!

Two YouTube videos and blog posts two days in a row! GO ME! I just wanted to let you know that I am also going to be a featured blogger on Ashley Elizabeth's website as well. (www.alelizabeth.com)- so please keep an eye out for that. It will be different blogs than posted on my website and on here.

MINI ULTA HAUL + OPINIONS

1. CoverGirl Lash Blast Fusion in Black: I always use the CoverGirl Lash Blast Volume (in the orange tube), but  I decided to reach for another CoverGirl product since I like the other so much. This is the one in the blue tube. I like it. I have only used it two times, so for now, it will be like until I fall in love! :) It has a similar, if not the same plastic mid sized wand.

Description from Ulta Website: LashBlast Fusion formula combines a blast of volume AND length for dramatic lashes with full length volume.

2. Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Pink Sugar: This is a very pale neutral pink color with small glitter specs. This particular color barely shows up on my lips unless I layer it like crazy. Formula does not go on very well, but does have a bit of a glossy finish. I do have to say, I love the packaging. It is black with criss cross diamonds etched on the front and back. The cap snaps on very nice and tight.

So, for some reason I could not find this on the Ulta website,  please check your local store. :)

3. NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss:  I LOVE this formula! How come I have never tried them before? Dumby me! It is non sticky, non greasy, super pigmented! I AM IN LOVE! I can definitely say this is my new favorite lip gloss. Not to mention, it comes in TONS of colors! If you have tried a color you can't live without please leave a comment below letting me know. :)

Color 1: Dolly Pink (136): This is a gorgeous bright/fuchsia pink color. It is super pigmented, glossy and very moisturizing on the lips. However, I do like to put an SPF under any glosses just to protect my lips. The gloss tends to attract the sun more. So, you definitely want to keep that in mind if you live in a very sunny area.

Color 2: Nude Pink (164) : This is a light neutral pink with light coral undertones. This is a very beautiful color to be worn alone for people with light skin tones, or great to be layered over a darker lip pencil or lipstick for those with darker skin tones.

4. NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk (604): This product is just great. I kind of wondered why people always raved over it, but I was still hesitant to get it. However, I DID. I do like it. I have not used it for a bright colored eye shadow base yet. But, I have been using it in the inner corners of my eyes, buffed out to highlight. They come in 31 different colors, so if you have used one you love, please let me know! :)

5.  L'Oreal Colour Riche Carresse Aqua Lacquer Lipgloss in Coral Tattoo: This product was not worth the money for me personally. Looking at the outside packaging, it looks like the name describes "Coral", but on the lips and swatched it looks orange. For me personally, I don't like light orange on my lips. It washes me out. The formula is very sheer, even though it does stay on pretty well. It is glossy at first, and then of course the gloss wears off, but the color stays.

6. Maybelline Expert Wear Eyebrow Pencil in Blonde: This eyebrow pencil works mediocre. It is a little dryer than I would prefer, but I love the color. It is hard to find a shade in blonde that is perfect. I absolutely love the Revlon one, however, since it is double ended the pencil is much smaller and runs out quickly.

Well, that is all guys! I hope you all have a wonderfully fun weekend! Bye!

Hugs,

Favorite Summer Lip Colors + DUPES

Hi Guys!

So guess what? I uploaded my first YOUTUBE video! http://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1-xIrpkxscXrCYVRI1FvDw I know it is not very good, but I tried. :) More in depth details and swatches will still be shown on both of my blogs. Here and at www.amyjunemakeup.com. Same content just in two different spots. I have older blog posts on my personal website. I decided to create a blogspot, so that you guys are able to comment. :)

FAVORITE SUMMER LIPCOLORS:

1. MAC Amplified Lipstick in Im-Passioned: Beautiful watermelon pink color. I love this shade for most skin colors. It has great pigmentation and is very creamy. Available at www.maccosmetics.com for $15

2. DUPE: Milani Lipstick in Flamingo Pose: This color is VERY similar to MAC Impassioned. I do find it to be a little dark, but BARELY. It also is not as shiny. However, on the lips, I can barely tell a difference. Great product; lasts long, and best part? Less than half the price! Available at Target for $4.99.

COMPARISON:

3. Maybelline Lipstick in Fuchsia Fever (140):  BEAUTIFUL hot pink color. It is ALMOST a dupe for MAC's Candy Yum Yum, I just think Candy Yum Yum is a tiny tiny bit brighter. This is a great summer color. The lipstick is very moisturizing and I find it stays on pretty well. Available at Target for around $5.

4. Revlon Just bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Lovesick: My new obsession. This is a sheer bright pink color. Just one swipe leaves a sheer bright pink, however the product is build-able to build more of an opaque look. It has a gloss to it, and it stays on through eating and drinking! WOW! Only thing that I personally do not like is the scent. It smells a little minty when first put on, but gradually fades away. I definitely want to try more colors. Available at Target for about $8.

5. MAC Satin Lipstick in Snob: is a cool-toned light-medium pink. It has a satin finish and has no sheen or shimmer to it. Available at www.maccosmetics.com for $15.

6. DUPE: Revlon Matte Lipstick in Pink Pout: also a cool toned light-medium pink. This shade is a tad bit darker than Snob, and it is a matte finish, not a satin. I can NOT tell a difference in color while on the lips. Only thing I can tell a difference in is the texture. Available at Target for about $7.

COMPARISON:

Hope you all enjoyed my FAVORITE Summer Lip Colors! Have a great Thursday!

April Favorites

Hi Guys!

This is my first blog spot post on here! Please check out www.amyjunemakeup.com for previous Blog posts.

Today,  I am going to be doing my APRIL FAVORITES! Sorry it is late, I have been having a lot going on. I have tried to provide all places where products are found and price for you. ENJOY. :)

1. Garnier Nutritioniste-Ultra-Lift anti wrinkle firming eye cream: I LOVE THIS. I have been using it for about a month now, I can definately see a difference in my under eye area. My fine lines have become more subtle, and I can definately see some firming happening. The cream is great for day and night, however, I only use it at night because I use an eye cream with SPF during the day. This product can be found for $7.95 at http://www.amazon.com/Garnier-Nutritioniste-Ultra-Cream-0-5-Ounces/dp/B000WNP2VC

2. MAC Fix +: This is a multi purpose product. It can be used for wetting your brushes before applying foundation, wetting brush before putting on eyeshadow to make the eye shadow bright and more opaque, setting spray, and a light moisturizer under foundation or powder. it is great for all skin types. I have oily skin, and I don't have a problem with it making me feel greasy. I mainly use ot for dampening my flat top kabuki brush before applying foundation. It makes the foundation go on more smoothing and not as cakey looking. The one I have shown is the mini size. The full size can be found for $21 at http://www.maccosmetics.com/product/177/388/Products/Skincare/Solutions/Fix/index.tmpl

3. Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion: This was a recommendation from a friend of mine and THANK YOU! This product has changed my skin. I use this as a night time moisturizer. It is for every skin type. It prevents against dry skin and is also great for sensitive skin. It is non greasy. It says "softer and smoother skin within just a few days", I usually don't give into marketing, but MY SKIN IS SOFTER!!!! :) This product is $18 for a 60 day supply at http://www.skinmdnatural.com/, or you can get it at a local vitamin store a 4oz bottle for about $10, check the website for locations.

4. China Glaze- Flip Flop Fantasy: This is my new FAVORITE summer color! It is a light, BUT bright orangey, corally, pink color. Hope that description helps. I purchased it at CosmoProf, but it is available for $4.95 at http://www.salonsupplystore.com/china-glaze-nail-polish-flip-flop-fantasy-80946-p-668711.html?osCsid=6e0cf516c0c2294915d45490b8ac1d57&catargetid=1895653386&cagpspn=pla&gclid=CM2Ql7rh-rYCFQ9dQgod-jYApg

5. Sally Hansen-Hard as Wraps- Powerful Acrylic Gel: This product makes your nails feel harder instantly with just one coat. I have been using it as a base coat, but if you don't want to polish your nails you can wear it alone. It works better than every other hardener I have tried. It is available for $5.99 at http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod2870031

6. Wet N Wild Color Icon Palette in Comfort Zone:
Row One:

  • The Browbone is a warm beige with a soft, frosted finish.
  • The Eyelid is a rosy copper with a frost finish.
  • The Crease is a warm, medium-dark golden brown with a pearly sheen.
  • The Definer is a dark, burgundy and copper shimmered brown with subtle red undertones.
Row Two:
  • The Browbone is a pale, dirty gray-pewter with a white, frosted sheen.
  • The Eyelid is a subdued, springy green with a golden sheen.
  • The Crease is a charcoal brown with a pearly sheen.
  • The Definer is a red-brown with a teal duochrome and frosted finish.
The color pay off is AMAZING. The pigment is great. It is definately worth the money. You can find it for $4.99 at http://www.drugstore.com/

7.  e.l.f. Lengthening & Defining Mascara: This has become my favorite mascara! I have relatively long lashes, but this product makes my lashes look even longer and thicker. It has a small wand so it really gets in there. Best part of all? It is $1 and available at Target or www.eyeslipsface.com

8. Revlon Brow Fantasy in Dark Blonde: This product is a two ended brow miracle! :) Side 1 is the pencil and size 2 is the gel to set it and tame. This product is a great two-in-one product that is very easy to throw in your bag on the go. My only complain is since it is two ended, the pencil is much smaller than that of an actual full eyebrow pencil, so the product tends to run out pretty quickly.

This product comes in 4 different shades, and is available for $7.49 at http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=VP00195

9. Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Eyeliner in Blackest Black: NEW favorite gel liner. I have to say that I have tried quite a few. Let's just compare it to MAC! Maybelline's compared to MAC's is a huge difference. MAC's looks gray placed side by side with Maybelline's. When I buy a black product, I expect it to be BLACK. So, Maybelline definitely wins my vote. I have used mine for a few months now, and it is still the same consistency and no drying out.

10. MAC Amplified Lipstick in Impassioned: is a nearly neon pink-red with a hint of coral warmth. I like to consider it a watermelon color. It has a creme finish. It is very opaque in color, yet glides on easier spreading a lot of color in just one swipe.

This has become my go-to summer color, it is just beautiful. Swatches don't do it justice! This product is available for $15 at www.maccosmetics.com

I hope you all enjoyed! If you have an comments, questions or concerns, feel free to email me personally at info@amyjunemakeup.com
