Online ULTA Mini Haul+Thoughts | June 2013

Hey Guys,

I recently, well a few weeks ago decided to shop on www.ulta.com. Sometimes I feel like shopping online is so much easier. Plus, it is always exciting to get a package in the mail. :)  If you want to see what I purchased, deals I got and my thoughts, keep reading...

FOUNDATION: I really needed foundation, and I saw they were offering buy one get one 1/2 off. So why not?

Revlon ColorStay Foundation (Normal/Dry Skin)---I have oily skin, however, I find that the "Normal/Dry" formula works better. This is my ALL time favorite drugstore foundation. It applies easily, doesn't clog my pores, and lasts all day. Make sure you get the one that has clear on the lid shown below.

Revlon ColorStay Whipped Foundation--- Since I love the original ColorStay so much, I decided to try the whipped without reading or hearing any reviews about it. My first impressions are that you make sure you don't order the same color you do in the original color stay and expect to get the same color. Weird, right? I did that and they are too different colors. I still made it work, even though it was a bit cool for my skin tone. This stuff really does leave a matte finish ALL day. I would not suggest it thought for everyday wear for someone with dry skin. But, for special events, it would be perfect.

TOOLS:

ULTA Super Blender Sponge---I have always heard such amazing things about the Beauty Blender, but, let's be honest, I don't want to spend over $20 for a sponge. So, I decided to give this product a shot. I completely wet and squeeze out the sponge and use it to blend my concealer. The tip is perfect for getting really close to your under eye area. It is also re-usable. Just wash with mild soap/air dry and there you go. For only $4.99 you can't beat the price. http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?skuId=2251305&productId=xlsImpprod4710031&navAction=push&navCount=1&categoryId=cat970007%20cat970005%20cat120084#details

LIPS:

Revlon Color Burst Lip Balm---I got two colors Cupcake and Sweet Tart. I love these two colors. However, I have read a lot of reviews on this product and people raving about it. It is not moisturizing to me. I'm sorry to say. I was very disappointed. Maybe I got a bad batch? I hope, because I SO wanted to love it.

CONCEALER:

NYX High Definition Photo Concealer Wand--- So, I saw this and it just sounded SO good! AND IT IS! I absolutely love this concealer. It is thick and creamy and amazing coverage. It just not crease under my eyes even when I don't set it with a powder. I got a color that is a little lighter than I usually use, so I also double it as a non-shimmer highlighter. It definitely brightens up my under eye area. For $4.99, AMAZING DEAL!

So, that is it! I really enjoyed ordering online. They sent me a bunch of perfume goodies. They let you choose what samples you want. They definitely did not skimp on sending samples. They send 5 or 6 different mini perfume samples for me to try.

Hope you enjoyed! Let me know your thoughts if you have tried any of these products!

{Lone Ranger Premiere Experience} | June , 22, 2013

Hi All,

So, I told you that I would do an update after the Lone Ranger Premiere that took place at Disney's California Adventure in Anaheim, California.

I HAD A BLAST!

As soon as we got there, we parked in a special parking lot, and took a bus over to the entrance. We then, had to check in and get our credentials. It was now time to enter the red carpet area. We got stopped, so Minnie Mouse or so I thought could walk by. Then, OH MY GOSH, Johnny Depp walked 2 feet in front of me!!! AMAZING.

We then continued down the red carpet where we saw various stars getting stopped to get interviewed. My husband is always on this Disney website called Mousewait, and he posted on it earlier in the day doing a RAC (random act of kindness), so whoever noticed us first and got our attention got a pair of 3D glasses from the Pirates of the Caribean premiere. That person was very excited to win such a great item.  We continued down the red carpet, getting stopped here and there because the carpet was not that wide and there were a lot of people on it.

When we got toward the end where the actual train was from the movie, we stopped to watch people take pictures in front of it.

We then went into the movie. It was a great movie. However, I feel like there was a lot of violence for a Disney film. Then again, I am a girl, and maybe it was just more of a "man" movie.

Quote from Entertainment Weekly:
"The House of Mouse pulled out all the stops for the big event, which featured a 1,500-foot-long red carpet stretching from the entrance of the park to the theater. Costumed characters like Mickey, Minnie, and Pluto were also present, as was the horse who plays Silver in the film. Ahead of the celebrity arrivals, jugglers on stilts entertained the crowd, and park employees passed out black masks like the Lone Ranger’s to fans and press."

We saw Natalie Maines, Audrina Patridge, Julianne Hough, Ruth Wilson, Twight Howard, Johnny Depp, Armie Hammer, Emma Roberts, Lisa Rinna, a few of the "Dancing with the Stars" cast, and a few Disney actors/actress'.

Here are some pictures:

This is how I wore my makeup:

I hope you enjoyed the sneak peek into my night!

Have a great week.

{My Day} | June 22, 2013

Good Morning All,

So, today so far has been pretty hectic for me and I am NOT slowing down. I woke up, cleaned up, meal prepped for tomorrow (Yes, I am eating clean and dieting, YAY). I wanted to take a few minutes to sit down to tell you about my day.

At 3pm today, I am going to my photographer friends Michelle's house to do makeup for a MOCK wedding that is taking place at a vineyard. I cannot wait to share photos with you and tell you more about the props, etc.

After that, I have to come home, touch my makeup, fix my hair and change my clothes because.....

WAIT FOR IT....

I Love Scentsy! | June 2013

Hi Guys,

Blogging two days in a row? GO ME! Anyway! I wanted to talk to you guys, and tell you about how much I LOVE SCENTSY! AND NO, I am not being sponsored or given anything by Scentsy. Just so I clarify that before someone asks.

Do you know what Scentsy is? This is the description from the website: Scentsy began with a simple idea — a safe, wickless alternative to scented candles — and quickly grew into one of the most successful direct selling companies in the world. This wickless concept is simply decorative ceramic warmers designed to melt scented wax with the heat of a light bulb instead of a traditional wick and flame.

I think I own 5 or 6 Scentsy warmers. They come in plug-in-the-wall, and ones that can sit on your desk or an end table.  What I LOVE is...if a child or a pet happens to come in contact with the wax, it will not cause any harm to them. Very different than a candle that can definitely hurt someone or even worse cause your house to go up in flames if forgotten about.

Here are a few pictures of MY Scentsy warmers:

This warmer is sitting on my desk:

This warmer is plugged into the wall in my bathroom area:

Scentsy has something called "Combine & Save" to get you started and give you everything you need. When visiting the website, just simply go to the left column and scroll down, it is toward the bottom. :)

Maybelline Color Tattoo {MUST HAVES} | June 2013

Hi Guys!

So, I know I am a little late with the Maybelline Color Tattoo, but I really wanted to see what all the hype was about and find essential colors.

These products, I have to say, are GREAT. To me, they are very similar to the MAC paint pots. However, I have not had them long enough to find out if they separate around the edges like the MAC paint pots do. I am very skeptical of cream shadows, just simply because I have combination/oily skin, so they tend to crease. THESE DID NOT CREASE ON ME! I was very happy about that.

These are the 3 I decided were essential colors to have in my collections:

The colors from left to right: TOO COOL, BOLD GOLD, INKED IN PINK

TOO COOL: Great for inner corner of the eye highlighting and also to place on lid if you would like to place down a pop of color.

BOLD GOLD: Beautiful by itself or amazing to place down before you put a gold pigment on top. Great as a highlighter on darker skin tones.

INKED IN PINK: Is my FAVORITE. :), I wear this on the lid by itself a lot, I feel like it definitely brights up my eye area. I have also warn it with a darker pink color on the outer corners for a little extra something.

Thanks for visiting my blog, have a great week!

First thoughts on Maybelline nail polish | June 2013

So, I have been looking for the perfect yellow color. Needless to say, it was not as easy as you would think. I already had a really pale yellow, so I was looking for something that was a little darker and a little brighter. I found one by Nicole, however it had a little shimmer to it and that is not what I was looking for.

I found one called "Fierce N Tangy" by Maybelline. It the perfect medium, non shimmer, with a little golden yellow color.

I have never owned a Maybelline nail polish or ever even thought to purchase one. I have to say I am pretty impressed. It went on very smoothly,  As for all polishes that I wear, they do chip, because my nails are not 100% back from when I had gels. But, it did not chip any faster than Essie or OPI.

Have you found any other colors by Maybelline that you love? Please let me know in the comments below.

Enjoy your Sunday evening. :)

May Favorites | accessories & beauty

Hi All!

Thank you so much for visiting my blog! I really appreciate it. This month I did not have a ton of favorites. Reason being, I don't like to say something is my "favorite" unless I absolutely love it, and use it ALL the time. YouTube video is up on my channel: http://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1-xIrpkxscXrCYVRI1FvDw

Accessories:

1. Ribbon Lash Case: Plastic case that holds 3 pairs of eye lashes. I LOVE THIS. Great way to store lashes and re-use them. This saves $$$, and you do not have "spiders or caterpillars" lying around.

2. BeDazzleYou girly phone case: These are custom cases made by me :). I do have some already available at http://www.etsy.com/shop/bedazzleyou

3.  Pretty gold three tiered necklace. This is available at http://www.omgthatissocute.com/

Beauty:

  • Pink Sugar Perfume: Love this smell! Mixture between sugar and cotton candy! YUM! Available at Nordstrom and Ulta. :)
  • Maybelline Vivids Lipstick in Pink Pop: Beautiful light, but bright blue pink lipstick. Great on lips; does not dry them out.
  • E.L.F. Radiance Enhancer Highlighter: I love this, it helps brighten up the high points on your face. Available at www.eyeslipsface.com for $3
  • NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss (Dolly Pink, Tea Rose, Nude Pink): Great consistency. They go on very smooth, are very shiny and are NOT sticky! Available at www.ULTA.com for $4.99 (check for sales on their website though, sometimes they are buy one get one 50% off)
  • Santee Plus nail polish in Light Pink: Beautiful pink. I wouldn't say it was light pink, but more of a bright light pink with warmer undertones. I love the way this polish applies. It does not leave streaks and dries relatively quick. You can find great deals on them on www.ebay.com
I hope you enjoyed my May favorites! Have a great weekend!
